If you are moving away from B.C.

If you have a current B.C. driver's license and are moving, check with your new licensing agency to find out what you need to obtain a new driver's license. Your B.C. license will remain valid for 90 days after you stop being a resident of B.C.

Over-the-phone translation services​​ are available at all driver licensing offices (DLOs) and claim centres. Our customer service representatives and driver licensing agents can connect with an interpreter over the phone to help you speak with us​.​​

Your insurance

In B.C., if you move, you are required to update ICBC with your new primary residential address within 10 days. Whenever you change address, you should make sure your vehicle licence, registration, and insurance is up to date to maintain your coverage.
