Rear-end crash with a cyclist

These crashes happen when a non-vehicle road user, such as a cyclist, is stopped or slowing on the roadway and is struck by a vehicle from behind.

The rules of the road

Vehicles must maintain a distance of three metres behind cyclists and other non-motor vehicle road users to be able to safely stop, even in an emergency. Therefore, the driver of the vehicle is 100% responsible.
