About ICBC
Chris Tupper, Vice President, Customer Experience and Public Affairs
Hi, I’m Chris (he/him) and I’m responsible for customer experience and public affairs at ICBC. Working with our partners, I’m committed to supporting British Columbians through every step of their journeys with us. I listen to what our customers want to know about ICBC and help deliver info to them in a straightforward, easy to understand way.
Before taking on this role, I oversaw ICBC’s Government and External Affairs department. Prior to ICBC, I was a government and stakeholder engagement consultant, providing support for some large infrastructure and marine development projects. I also spent eight years in the BC provincial government, serving in a variety of roles, including at the Ministry of Energy and Mines, Attorney General, and Public Safety and Solicitor General. I’ve worked in the financial services sector as well, holding positions in community relations, marketing, and social responsibility reporting.
I received a Bachelor’s in Political Science from the University of Saskatchewan, where I also was elected to serve as Vice President of the students union. And recently I sat as a provincial appointee to the Central Saanich Police Board until my term ended after six years. When not at work, I enjoy volunteering for my children’s youth sports and supporting both of their various (and many) extracurricular activities.
