Unclaimed funds

In accordance with the Unclaimed Property ​Act, ICBC maintains a database for funds that:

• have been returned to ICBC undelivered

• have remained un-cashed for a specified period of time

• are greater than or equal to $50.00

• were issued July 1, 2000, or later

Claiming funds

It may help the verification process if you can provide other identifying information, such as your address (current or previous), licence plate number, personal health number, birth certificate or citizenship card.

Note: ICBC cannot confirm the identity of search results in the database by phone or email. You must submit a request for any results that match your search.

To submit a request for unclaimed funds, you must print and mail your completed request form to

Once you submit your unclaimed fund request, it will take about four to six weeks to verify and process.

Claiming funds on behalf of another person

You can file a request on behalf of another person if you have the legal authority to do so (e.g. as a legal representative or heir to an estate). You will need to provide additional information like documentation to verify the identity of the person you are requesting funds for and Power of Attorney or Last Will and Testament.

Claiming funds on behalf of a company or organization

You can file a request on behalf of a company if you are a legal representative. You will need to provide additional information, such as the incorporation number and legal documentation certifying you as the organizations representative.
