Planning to get your "L" and start learning how to drive? You'll find everything you need to get going here:
To get a full-privilege, Class 5 driver's licence, new drivers must go through our Graduated Licensing Program (GLP).
GLP includes a 12-month
Learner stage and a 24-month
Novice stage. (You may take longer in either stage, or with driver training, get a six-month reduction in the Novice stage.)
While driving with your L or N, certain restrictions apply.
The steps to get a motorcycle licence in B.C. depend on whether you already have a B.C. driver's licence.
If you're a new rider/driver, you'll have to go through the full Graduated Licensing Program.
You need a Class 1, 2, 3 or 4 licence for driving vehicles such as busses taxis and trucks with more than two axels.
It helps to know the risks new driver's face — and what you can do to help your teen stay safe.
