Types of driver certification facilities
Before applying to become a driver certification facility, it is helpful to understand the types of facilities authorized by ICBC.
There are two types of certification facilities:
Air brake certification facility
This is a licensed driving school authorized by ICBC to conduct air brake assessments — includes 16 hours of theory and four hours of practical assessment.
This type of facility can charge drivers a fee to take this program.
Motorcycle skills certification facility
This is a licensed driving school authorized by ICBC to conduct motorcycle skills assessments.
This type of facility can charge drivers a fee to take this program.
