Seasonal driving tips

Summer vehicle maintenance | Driving on wet roads | Driving on icy or snowy roads | Winterizing your vehicle

Every season puts particular demands on your vehicle - and on you, its driver.

Your vehicle must be mechanically sound and properly tuned to perform well in the extremes of winter cold or summer heat.

You too must be ready, especially in the winter, when the weather gets ugly and roads treacherous.

To help you stay safe, this section shows you -

• how to winterize your vehicle, and what kind of safety equipment you need for longer trips

If you're travelling far, check road and weather reports first. It might be better to stay home until conditions improve. During your trip, tune in to local radio stations for up-to-the-minute road and weather reports.
