Knowledge tests
Before you can get a motorcycle learner's licence, you must
pass two knowledge tests:
1. a passenger vehicle
knowledge test and
2. a motorcycle knowledge test
Highlights —
- usually taken on a computer
- the passenger vehicle knowledge test contains 50 multiple-choice questions — answer 40 correctly to qualify
- the motorcycle knowledge test contains 40 multiple-choice questions — answer 32 correctly to qualify
- tests your understanding of material in the ICBC
driving manuals, RoadSense for Drivers and RoadSense for Riders
- questions are designed to require thinking and understanding, not just memorized
facts
- tests take about half an hour each (but you can take longer)
- can be taken in English, French, Cantonese, Mandarin
and Punjabi
To take the test, go to your nearest driver
licensing office. No appointment is necessary. Bring ID.
Knowledge tests fee: $15. If
you pass, there is also a fee
for your licence.
If you don't pass the tests, you can come back another day
and take them again. You will have to pay the $15 fee again.
