Answers to common questions about RoadsidePlus

How much does it cost?

You can get RoadsidePlus for only $50 per year, or less than $5 per month with ICBC payment plan if you are a RoadStar or RoadStar Gold (level -9 or lower on the Claim-Rated Scale), or if your fleet discount is 40% or more.

If you have not yet reached RoadStar status, or your fleet discount is 39% or less, you can still buy RoadsidePlus for an affordable $78 per year, or slightly more than $7 per month with ICBC's payment plan.

Who can buy RoadsidePlus?

You can buy RoadsidePlus as long as you have Autoplan Collision coverage with a deductible of $1,000 or less for most classes of passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles with a GVW [ definition] of 5,000 kg or less, and motor homes.

Your policy can be annual or short-term; you can be buying a new policy or renewing a previous one. You can add RoadsidePlus at any time during your policy term. You do not need to be a RoadStar or RoadStar Gold to buy RoadsidePlus.

Where will RoadsidePlus cover me?

RoadsidePlus covers you anywhere in Canada or the United States, but not in Mexico or any other country.

I already have the RoadStar Package. Why should I upgrade to RoadsidePlus?

RoadsidePlus offers more complete protection. It includes the four coverages that are included with the RoadStar Package, although with higher limits, as well as four new coverages to help protect you from almost any eventuality on the road.

If you already have the RoadStar Package, it will be credited towards your purchase of RoadsidePlus. You should choose one package or the other, but not both.

Does a claim under Roadside Plus affect my discount level?

No. Any claims you make under your RoadsidePlus coverage will not affect the discount you have earned on your Autoplan premiums.

Do I need receipts to get paid back?

Yes, you must submit original receipts of actual expenses to be repaid under RoadsidePlus coverage.

Do I have to keep RoadsidePlus for a whole year?

No, you can cancel at any time. However, there is a minimum premium of $40 for cancelled coverage, no matter how short a period you carried it.
