Question

Why do I have to pay a user fee or surcharge for medical therapy?

Answer

ICBC follows a fee schedule that was established by the B.C. Medical Services Commission and payable through the Medical Services Plan (MSP). Physiotherapists and chiropractors may bill ICBC claims through MSP at these rates and may charge additional amounts directly to the patient. You are responsible for paying any charges that exceed amounts set out in the fee schedule.

You may be able to recover these extra payments from your extended or private health plan.
