Knowledge test (passenger vehicles)

Before you can get your learner's licence, you have to take a knowledge test.

The knowledge test is based on the safe-driving guide, Learn to Drive Smart. There are 50 multiple-choice questions on the test. To pass, you need to correctly answer at least 40.

Ready for your test?

Great! Just go to a driver licensing office and come in as early as you can to give yourself enough time to take the knowledge test. Depending on customer demand on any given day, we may not be able to accommodate all knowledge test requests at the end of the day.

After you pass

After meeting all application requirements, you'll get a Class 7 learner’s and enter the learner (L) stage of graduated licensing.
