Book an appointment to apply for an enhanced drivers licence

You will need to book an appointment to

apply for your first enhanced driver's licence (EDL)
renew your EDL
replace a lost or stolen EDL, or
update your EDL because you changed your name, address, or licence class.

This in-person appointment takes place at one of 16 EDL driver licensing locations in B.C.

Getting started

All EDL appointments must be booked ahead of time. You can book online or by phone.

To get started, here's what you need:

Booking online

The easiest way to book, reschedule or cancel an appointment is to use our EDL Online Booking Service:

Hours: Available 4 a.m.–midnight Monday to Saturday, and 9 a.m.–midnight on Sundays.

Booking by phone

Call the EDL Customer Line at 1-866-972-6888, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m.—4:30 p.m.

Note: During busy times, there may be a moderate wait.

Booking confirmation number

Once your EDL application appointment is confirmed, you'll receive a booking confirmation number.

Important: Be sure to record the number and keep it safe for future use.
