Fire or other damage claims

If you purchased ICBC Autoplan Comprehensive or Specified Perils insurance you are covered by ICBC. If you purchased private insurance coverage, please speak to your insurance company.

Comprehensive

ICBC comprehensive insurance protects your vehicle against a wide variety of types of damage or loss including:

• Fire
• Theft
• Attempted theft
• Weather disturbances including windstorms, hailstorms, lightning
• Earthquake
• Explosion
• Riot or civil disorder
• A falling aircraft or part of an aircraft, the forced landing of an aircraft
• Rising water or the stranding, sinking, burning, derailment or collision of a conveyance [click for definition] which is transporting a vehicle on land or water.
• Vandalism
• Malicious mischief
• Missiles [click for definition] (primarily for glass claims)
• Falling or flying objects
• Impact with an animal (wild or domestic), living or dead

Specified Perils

ICBC Specified Perils insurance covers fewer situations than Comprehensive insurance. However, it does protect your vehicle against loss or damage caused by:

• Fire
• Theft
• Attempted theft
• Weather disturbances including windstorms, hailstorms, lightning
• Earthquake
• Explosion
• Riot or civil disorder
• A falling aircraft or part of an aircraft, the forced landing of an aircraft
• Rising water or the stranding, sinking, burning, derailment or collision of a conveyance which is transporting a vehicle on land or water.

NOTE: Neither Comprehensive or Specified Perils coverage applies in cases of theft by an employee or by anyone living in the same household as you, if you are the insured.
