Meeting your adjuster

Quick tips for smooth claims processing

By working with your adjuster, you can help to speed up the claims process. Here are some helpful tips:

• Do you have any special needs? For example, if you are recovering from an injury, do you require homecare assistance?
• Has a health care practitioner, like your medical doctor, cared for any injuries or conditions related to your crash? If so, bring along any related receipts for health care or prescription drugs.
• After your first meeting, how would you like your adjuster to contact you? For example, would you prefer phone, email, fax, or standard mail?
• If you are not available, is there someone else your adjuster can contact about your case?
• If your car was damaged in the crash in which you were injured, do you have a preferred body shop where you would like it to be repaired?
• Ensure that any information you bring with you is accurate.

Sometimes the steps to make a claim and the words we use are confusing. If you find that you are not certain about what has been said or anything else about your claim, please tell your adjuster. We want to help you through your claim and it is important that there is no confusion.
