Should I repair my car right away?

Once ICBC has had the opportunity to inspect your vehicle, you may have it repaired. If the other motorist is found liable for the accident, ICBC may be able to repay you for the deductible [click for definition] you have paid the repair shop. If you are found partially liable, you will be responsible for that percentage of your collision deductible.

Should I repay my claim for vehicle damage

If you are found liable for the crash there can be advantages to repaying your claim. You might be able to protect your ICBC discount and your place on the Claims Rated Scale]. Whether this makes sense will depend upon:

Once the repairs are completed to your vehicle and the other driver's vehicle, you will be advised of the repair amounts. At that time, you will be offered an option of processing the claim under your insurance or repaying the claim and maintaining your position on the Claim-Rated Scale.
