RoadStar Vehicle Travel Protection
RoadStar Vehicle Travel Protection is great for drivers who take their vehicle on business trips or vacation. Get coverage if you crash or your vehicle is stolen and you need to claim living expenses, a replacement vehicle or towing costs while you’re on a trip of up to 30 days.
Anyone travelling with you gets the same perks, even if they are not B.C. residents. Claim on this policy without it affecting your position on the Claim-Rated Scale.

What is included
- Up to $500 for one or two insured travellers or up to $1000 for three or more travellers (and in the case of motor homes, $2,000 regardless of the number of travellers) for living costs such as accommodation, meals, telephone and transportation.
- Up to $500 for a rental vehicle or reimbursement for replacement transportation when, as a result of a claim, your rental vehicle or courtesy car is undriveable.
- Up to $100 for towing costs, $250 for motor homes.
- Up to $1,500 for two or fewer insured travellers, or up to $3,000 for three or more insured travellers, for travel expenses to get you home.
- $750 to get your vehicle back home or $1,000 for your motor home.
- Get your Autoplan Collision deductible reimbursed if you have this coverage, and the other driver was at fault and not insured by ICBC.
Need a bit extra? With the RoadsidePlus package, you will get Vehicle Travel Protection with a payout for living costs between $1,000 and up to $2,000.
Who is covered?
The coverage is only available to B.C. residents. However, your travelling companions can also be covered for the times they are travelling with you in a vehicle covered by the policy.
You and these travellers are covered in any vehicle or as a pedestrian or cyclist as part of your Vehicle Travel Protection policy.
Which vehicles are covered?
Your passenger vehicle, motorcycle, motor home and commercial vehicle (under 5,000kg GVW) can all get Vehicle Travel Protection as long as it is licensed and registered in B.C. If you borrow or rent a vehicle for your travels, it is covered too.
Your camper or trailer gets free coverage, provided it is being towed or is attached to your insured vehicle.
