Vehicle Travel Protection

Vehicle travel protection is recommended for drivers who take their vehicles on business trips or vacation. Get coverage if you crash and as a result your vehicle becomes inoperable, or your vehicle is stolen and you need to claim living expenses, a replacement vehicle or towing costs. It also covers returning home, getting the vehicle home and reimbursement for collision deductible if the other driver was at fault and not insured by ICBC.

Anyone travelling with you can get the same perks too — even if they are not B.C. residents. You can claim on Vehicle Travel Protection without affecting your position on the Claim-Rated Scale.

Buy Vehicle Travel Protection directly from your Autoplan broker.

What is included

You can get Vehicle Travel Protection as part of the RoadStar and RoadSidePlus packages. Get plenty of great coverage for one great price!

Note: Please remember to keep all receipts for costs you are claiming under Vehicle Travel Protection.

Who is covered?

The coverage is only available to B.C. residents. However, your travel companions can also be covered for the times they are travelling with you; simply list them when you buy your policy.

You and your fellow travellers are covered in any vehicle or as a pedestrian or cyclist as part of your Vehicle Travel Protection policy.

Which vehicles are covered?

Your private passenger vehicle, motorcycle, motor home or commercial vehicle (only if 5000 kg GVW or less) can all get Vehicle Travel Protection so long as the vehicle is licensed and registered in B.C. If your vehicle is borrowed or rented, it is covered too.

Remember to tell us which vehicle you are insuring when you buy your Vehicle Travel Protection. We need to know the following:

If your vehicle covered under Vehicle Travel Protection tows or attaches a camper or a trailer for the trip, the camper or trailer is also covered under the policy.

Get Vehicle Travel Protection for your motor home too; ask your Autoplan broker for details.
