Collision coverage pays for repairs to your vehicle if you are in a crash. You are also covered if the vehicle needs towing, storage or salvage disposal.
Collision coverage is specifically for crashes in which your vehicle is damaged. You will get it repaired or get a payout if your vehicle is a write-off in a claim, no matter who was at fault in the crash. Talk to your Autoplan broker to get covered.
Collision coverage applies when:
Depending on the type of vehicle, deductibles may start at only $300 for collision coverage.
Please note: If you have a history of at-fault crashes, you may only be able to buy collision insurance with a high deductible. If you have an extensive history of at-fault crashes, you may not be able to buy collision insurance at all.
For most passenger and light commercial vehicles, you can buy extra insurance for non-manufacturer's equipment that you have permanently installed in the vehicle.
You might want to consider Excess Special Equipment coverage. With this endorsement, you can insure non-manufacturer's equipment worth more than $5,000, or sound and communication equipment worth more than $1,000.
