If you owe money to ICBC or the B.C. government

In order to buy or renew your insurance, you must not have any fines, fees or debts outstanding with ICBC or the provincial government. Please follow the instructions provided with your fine to clear the debt prior to renewing your insurance. Once you have settled your debts, you are free to complete all transactions at the Autoplan broker.

ICBC debts could be:

• Driver penalty point premiums
• Traffic or intersection safety camera tickets
• Multiple-crash premium or its predecessor, the crash responsibility charge
• Unpaid monthly payments for your insurance
• Previous unpaid insurance policies

How to pay fines

Each fine is paid differently. Follow the steps for your fine from the list above. For provincial government fines, instructions to pay will usually be printed on the notice of debt. If not, please contact the organization that issued the fine for more information.
